Gateway Rescue Mission exists to offer life changing hope through the Gospel of Jesus Christ to homeless men, women, and children through programs to deliver food, shelter, counseling and discipleship.

What We Do

Gateway Rescue Mission is not all things to all people.  But what we do, we do with full vigor.

  • We feed hungry people…3 square meals a day, 7 days a week.
  • We shelter the homeless…365 days a year.
  • We help those struggling with addiction.

Our ministry is not bells and whistles.  It isn’t glamorous.  But we roll up our sleeves daily in real human misery, get dirt under our fingernails, and do what we believe Jesus would have us do to help folks in need.

Our facilities are not plush, but they are clean and safe.

Jesus got His hands dirty dealing with people, and we do the same.  We’re not Jesus…and don’t claim to be.  But we proclaim a Jesus who has the power to save and transform, and we follow a Jesus who says we should help the downtrodden, love the unlovable and help the helpless.

Why donate to Gateway Rescue Mission?

We meet basic human needs. We feed hungry people. We shelter homeless people. We place homeless people into permanent housing when possible. We offer drug and alcohol rehabilitation at no cost.

The Bible teaches us that God has a compassion for the “throw away” people of society. But most churches aren´t in a position to house and feed the homeless. That´s where Gateway steps in, as a para-church organization that provides a vital and much-needed Christian function.

Gateway Rescue Mission receives no government or United Way funding. All our funding comes from private sources, individuals, churches, foundations, organizations and our thrift stores.

Our passion is changing lives. We´re not here just to provide food for a hungry man who´s going to be hungry again tomorrow. Your dollars go toward permanent life change.

We are also looking for volunteers. All it takes is just a little of your time, and the rewards are plentiful. Many volunteers show up at Gateway to help, and end up greatly blessed by the experience.

Rushed for time? Take a few minutes out of your day, right now, to pray for us and for the lives we are trying to restore hope and spread God´s word too. Prayer doesn´t cost a dime, and it´s the most powerful thing you can do for us.

Doctrinal Statement

At Gateway Rescue Mission, we specialize in broken people.  We feed hungry people, we provide shelter to the homeless, and we offer long term help for those struggling with addictions.  Our source of authority comes from none other than Jesus Christ, who said “inasmuch as you’ve done it to the least of these brothers of Mine, you’ve done it to Me.”

The Ruth’s Refuge for Women ran by Gateway Rescue Mission, they provided me food, a roof over my head, clothing, the love of God and so much more.
I grasped the true meaning of unconditional love from the staff and volunteers from Gateway.
Gateway has offered me a training ground for a new way of life that would have been impossible in the world on my own
without the accountability and fellowship that I received here.
Today, I am a man free of the alcohol addiction, happily married, and working as the Operations Manager for the place that changed my Life.
Thank you Jesus Christ and, thank you Gateway Rescue Mission!!

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
